Celia believes public schools are the foundations for living great and prosperous lives. She supports smaller class sizes, raising teacher salaries,deterring the for profit motives of charter schools. Celia believes in free universal school meals so that no child will go hungry during the most crucial parts of their lives. Celia believes in strengthening the bonds between the city and the schools that reside with in.
Celia cree que las escuelas públicas son las bases para vivir una vida grandiosa y próspera. Ella apoya clases más pequeñas, aumentando los salarios de los maestros, disuadiendo los motivos con fines de lucro de las escuelas charter. HOUSING/ ALOJAMIENTO
Celia understands that the rent is indeed "too damn high" and she wholeheartedly supports rent control. Celia also believes local government should do it's best to listen and act on the concerns of homeowners and renters alike. Celia believes in establishing workshops to help tenants know their rights. Celia supports fair housing for all so that no one has to sleep on the streets. As a local business owner and resident she understands the danger of gentrification.
Celia entiende que la renta es "demasiado alta" y apoya de todo corazón el control de la renta. Celia también cree que el gobierno local debería hacer lo mejor para escuchar y actuar sobre las preocupaciones de los propietarios e inquilinos por igual. Celia cree en el establecimiento de talleres para ayudar a los inquilinos a conocer sus derechos. Celia apoya la vivienda justa para todos para que nadie tenga que dormir en las calles. Como propietaria y residente de un negocio local, comprende el peligro de la gentrificación.

Celia believes healthcare is a human right. Celia believes every human being deserves to live healthy lives regardless of income or legal status.

ENVIRONMENT/ El AMBIENTE
Celia knows we only have one planet earth to call home. She believes that local government must lead and take action to combat climate change even when federal government refuses to do so. Celia believes in transforming into a 'green' city. Working with homeowners to transition to solar panels and with other city officials to find the most cost effective ways to reduce our carbon footprint.
Celia sabe que solo tenemos un planeta tierra para llamar hogar. Ella cree que el gobierno local debe liderar y tomar medidas para combatir el cambio climático, incluso cuando el gobierno federal se niega a hacerlo. Celia cree en transformarse en una ciudad 'verde'. Trabajando con los propietarios para la transición a paneles solares y con otros funcionarios de la ciudad para encontrar las formas más rentables de reducir nuestra huella de carbono.
DIVERSITY/DIVERSIDAD
As an immigrant Celia recognizes the importance of diversity. She believes a council member should serve and listen to every resident, regardless of how they worship, what they look like,or who they love, diversity makes communities stronger and more understanding. She believes as a city we should celebrate our diversity and use it to strengthen the bonds between the city and its residents.
Como inmigrante, Celia reconoce la importancia de la diversidad. Ella cree que un miembro del consejo debe servir y escuchar a cada residente, independientemente de cómo adoran, el color de su piel o a quién aman, la diversidad hace que las comunidades sean más fuertes y más comprensivas. Ella cree que como ciudad debemos celebrar nuestra diversidad y usarla para fortalecer los lazos entre la ciudad y sus residentes.
ECONOMY/ECONOMÍA
Celia knows many people are fighting just to survive. Celia believes small businesses are the backbone of our local economies. She believes that government officials should do their best to ensure small businesses can thrive. Celia also believes in hosting job fairs.
Celia sabe que muchas personas están luchando solo para sobrevivir. Celia cree que las pequeñas empresas son la columna vertebral de nuestras economías locales. Ella cree que los funcionarios del gobierno deberían hacer todo lo posible para garantizar que las pequeñas empresas puedan prosperar. Celia también cree en organizar ferias de empleo.
